Marin Amateur Radio Society
Effective date: July 3, 2026
This privacy policy describes how the MARS APRS Tracker application and website (marsaprs.org) collect, use, and share information.
When you use the Share Location feature, the app collects:
If you submit a bug report or feedback ticket, we collect your name, email address (optional), and the information you provide in the report.
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.
Your location data is shared with other participants in the same event session as part of the intended function of the app. Position data is also injected into the public APRS radio and internet networks as part of normal amateur radio operations.
Ham radio callsigns are public information by nature of FCC licensing.
Location sharing is entirely opt-in. You must actively tap "Share Location" and select an activity to begin transmitting your position. You can stop sharing at any time from within the app. The app requests background location permission on iOS and Android solely to continue transmitting your position while the app is not in the foreground — this permission is used only while you have an active sharing session.
This app is intended for use at organized amateur radio and community events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
